DASAT-CMS differenciates between several user groups:
- System adminstrator
- Administrator
- Designer
- Editor
each group has different features, which are listed separately by task.
Editors are mostly responsible for the content of an internet presentation. Aside from text content, multimedia content is on the rise. It's in their hands whether the user is intrigued by the website or runs away in horror.
- System independent
The editor can add and edit his data independently from his location or time of day.
- Online editor
With the online editor the editor works on his content as if he was using a word processor online.
- Multilingual
Different language versions of the user interface are available - even more are coming
- Integrate objects via click
Links, images, downloads, etc. can be put into the text at will. The content is stored as objects and configured with mouse click via the intuitive interface.
- Intuitive usability
Editors will quickly be comfortable with the DASAT-CMS because of the intuitive usability. Two to three hours dealing with the system are usually sufficient to add and edit content single-handedly.
- Cut and Paste (Cut & Paste)
Contents from other documents (Word, spread sheets, HTML editors, etc.) can be brought into the system via copy and paste.
- Page wizards
These objects control the look of each single page, but not the layout of the entire presentation. They define how a job ad, a news bit, etc. should look like, so the CI of the company is sustained.
- Edit modus
Pages or categories can be taken "offline", which means the web user won't see them when they are being edited. So no rush while editing.
Designer can create the layout of templates in cooperation with the client. Display and positioning of single elements (navigation, texts, graphics, etc.) are being set. The first impression of the website is the result of the layout.
- Layout templates
DASAT-CMS controls the look via templates, which are responsible for the layout. Existing objects (navigation, search, news, etc.) can be put in any order on the website.
- Page wizards
They are the "small" templates for content and are being integrated into the layout templates. These templates control, independently from the layout template, the positiioning of text entry, images, link objects, etc. With these you can create layout of job ads, news pages, product information, etc. The consist, just like the layout templates, of HTML code and DASAT-TAGs.
- Moduls (top objects)
The CMS is delivered with various modules, which are combined with the layout data. For implementation you need no programming knowledge.
- Module templates
These layout files use the function of the modules and can be created individually. This is pure HTML code as well. No programming necessary, unless you want to introduce some javascript code for special effects.
Der Administrator CMS handles users, groups, domains. He has other additional functions, such as system info and doorway pages.
- User administration
A modern editing system must be equipped with a hierarchy system. Files such as account, password, name and email address are created. With a home filing system you set in which part of the website the user is being redirected after registration. An editor, who enters news, is automatically being redirected towards the news section, without any further clicking.
- Group administration
Every user must be in one user group. Every group has special rights. Those rights are global. These global rights can be taken away from each user or group on the page and category level. If a group hasn't received a right, it's not even in his system. Via group adminstration you can define closed user groups, which can only view certain content.
- Domains
The system also administers entry of domains, subdomains, and virtual sub files. There is the possibility of putting a *.de domain in a different starting point than a *.com or *.ca Domain, without involving the configuration data of the web server.
You can also set virtual lists, which link to specific start pages.
- System info
Via this menu point the administrator gets information about his server and the software version.
- Doorway pages
Database based web systems are often not searched by search engines correctly, so that listing is insufficient. Doorway pages are static websites, which are created by DASAT-CMS. These sites are optimized for search engines and can be registered via mouseclick.
Der System administrator has the easiest task since the new version 3.0. He only has to make sure the software is up-to-date.
- One Installation multiple Clients
The new version of the DASAT-CMS has an important advantage towards all other content management systems: Per server only one kernel is installed and per web presence only the client relevant data copied. When the system is updated, only the kernel is overwritten with the new version and all systems on one server have the new version.
- Client installation
The installation of a client, who wants to use the DASAT-CMS on his server, takes only about 30 seconds. Without Confixx it takes about 5 minutes.
- Standard webserver
When programming DASAT-CMS we make sure that the software runs under current Linux distributions of RedHat, SuSe und Mandrake without additional modules or compiling of the system. A complete new installation is done in about one hour.
